Programme aims
  • The Master's programme offers a range of options for graduates seeking a higher academic qualification in language studies and wishing to specialise in the Russian language. Most of the teaching is done through lectures, seminars and individual tutorials. The Master's programme aims at training qualified specialists in teaching Russian as a foreign language.

  • multimedia technologies in teaching Russian as a foreign language;
  • translation and cross-cultural communication;
  • typological connections in language, literature, and culture;
  • education standards and legal framework of teaching Russian as a foreign language.
    Forms of study
    Full-time lectures and practical classes in:

    • methods of cross-cultural communication;
    • communicative behaviour in different situations;
    • educational projects management and training;
    • research and methodology for Master's thesis;
    • modern technologies of digital processing and systematization of information.
    The programme is implemented in the partnership with the regional and foreign educational institutions and the University's resource centres and laboratories.

    Career opportunities:
    A graduate of the programme can work as:

    • a teacher of Russian as a native/ non-native/foreign language in secondary and higher educational institutions, foreign language and cultural centres;
    • an expert (consultant) on international cooperation, including at the embassies and consulates of the Russian Federation;
    • an expert in the field of language testing at language centres, educational institutions in Russia and abroad;
    • a methodologist who develops course books, dictionaries for teaching Russian as a native/ non-native/foreign language;
    • researcher in the field of cross-cultural communication in research centres.

      Enrollment requirements
      Bachelor or Specialist degree;

      Entrance examinations in a foreign language and a comprehensive exam in the chosen Master's programme

      Applicants having an A2 language certificate or higher do not have to take the foreign language exam.
